Kulture Klub has demonstrated that artistic practice can help at-risk youth communicate their life experiences and creativity while learning how to interact with others as a group. KKC staff schedule artists and professional art events for youth based on how each experience will model positive expression of vision and artistic excellence. Often it is the first time the youth have ever been to a play, met an artist, or spoken with actors after a performance. Ongoing Kulture Klub programs include:

Art View, weekly viewing of art and cultural events in the Twin Cities, including theater, visual art, film, music, artist lectures and dance performances.

Artist-In-Residence, 6 - 8 week workshops with artists of artistic excellence in all mediums including visual art, performance, media arts, writing, dance, and music.

Artlab, single session artist-led activities such as book making, drumming, writing, readings and open art lab evenings where the youth choose their own creative outlet.

Arts Partners, partnerships with arts groups, such as Patrick's Cabaret, Intermedia Arts, the Walker Art Center and the Southern Theater, to provide youth with opportunities to present their expressions to the public.

Open Mic, readings and speak-outs at Project OffStreets drop-in on specific themes, such as Black History, Women's History, Native History and World AIDS Day, for the youth to experience public expression with an audience of their peers.

Khadar Elders Program, elders and artists from various cultural communities in the Twin Cities join with the youth of Project OffStreets drop-in to present about their culture through the sharing of food, stories, culturally specific art and music. These have included cultural perspectives from the Hmong, Ojibwe, Mexican, Indian, Japanese, Islamic, Jewish, Costa Rican, and Swedish communities, among others.

Scholarships, promising youth receive scholarships from KKC towards arts training, such as Zenon Dance Company, to take free classes from professional artists; KK coordinates and facilitates these kinds of opportunities for youth who have proven consistency, commitment, and want additional specialized one-on-one training and exploration.

Artists and homeless youth, bridging survival and inspiration.
