ART-wise: Bridging 15 Years of Kulture Klub
Soo Visual Arts
Minneapolis, Minnesota
November 7 – December 14, 2008

Setting the stage for memories expressed by those who participated in the past, witnessed and interpreted by those participating in the present, heard, felt and re-imagined by the visiting publics.

As Founder of Kulture Klub, Dorit Cypis will begin the thread of a timeline of key events in her memory, from dreaming of Kulture Klub, to handing the baton to a new director. Through this timeline the stage will be set for all who have participated with Kulture Klub to recall key events in their memories for public interaction. Together, a legacy of personal and social engagement between thousands of individuals and organizations in the Twin Cities will be made visible, a wide network of collaborative surprises.

Phase 1 1990-1998
Begin with a personal wall timeline by founder Dorit Cypis, charting pre KK thoughts, developing KK, memorable events and people 1990-1998, and passing the mantle. Invite KK youth and artist members, guides and partners to add their personal stories along this time-line.
Phase 2 1998-2008
Continue the time-line by KKC Staff, with their personal markers of memorable events and people 1998-2008. Invite KK youth and artist members, guides and partners to add their personal stories along this time-line. Collaborate with SooVAC to curate an exhibition of work done by artists who have worked with Kulture Klub youth during the past 15 years.

Phase 3 The Present
