Moxie joins the SooVAC and Robot Love for this national event in which participants of all ages will raise pledges for sleeping outside in cardboard boxes for the night. This is Moxie Salon’s fifth time sponsoring the event.
Moxie will host a 9 hour Cut-A-Thon on Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm at both Minneapolis and St. Paul locations. All haircuts will be a $30 suggested donation. All proceeds will go to Kulture Klub Collaborative and Street Works. PLEASE JOIN US IN RAISING AWARENESS OF HOMELESSNESS IN OUR COMMUNITY!
Here are two great ways to get involved.
Sleep
out!
Join
the Moxie Team for an overnight Sleep Out. Spend the night outside to raise
awareness of homelessness in the community. Collect pledges from others to
support you during your sleep out. Pledge forms available on the Moxie website.
Moxie will be open for everyone to warm up and use the restroom if needed.
The Sleep Out will take place in the SooVAC/Robot Love parking lot, across
the street form Moxie Salon in uptown. Registration will begin at 6:00pm.
Event activities include; an open mic featuring poets and musicians, a sleep-out,
and complimentary breakfast at the Common Roots Cafe. Please bring all pledges
and donations at that time.
Get your hair cut!
On November 18th from 9am-5pm at both Minneapolis and St. Paul Moxie Salon

StreetWorks is a collaborative
effort among 13 youth-serving agencies that offer an array of housing options
and services, including emergency shelter, transitional housing, drop-in centers,
meal sites, clothing, HIV/STD prevention, medical care, mental health counseling,
alcohol and chemical dependency treatment, employment opportunities, educational
programs, and life skills programs.
StreetWorks identifies homeless youth on the streets of the Twin Cities through
its 33 outreach workers who canvass the streets from 2:00 p.m. to midnight
every day. Because member agencies have pledged to provide easy access to
their programs, outreach workers can immediately connect homeless youth with
a continuum of services while building trusting relationships with these individuals
that may last for years.
